Installous is gone. Hackulo.us has shutdown and there’s no more repo support from that team. As unfortunate as it is (Installous was our most loved Cydia app), things aren’t getting any better any sooner with no sign of any coming back from Hackulo.us team.
When things give you a run for your money (or time), the best thing to do is look for alternatives to Installous. We’ve been doing that for a long time now. There was AppCake which we reviewed a while back. However, you don’t find any other software like vShare (formerly AppVV).
With vShare, things are a bit different from your usual Installous alternative. It’s a Cydia tweak as much similar to Installous as it can be but there are several variations which make vShare quite interesting and popular.

How to Install vShare on Your Jailbroken iPhone:
#1. Get AppSync
Plenty of repos now host AppSync. The most popular one right now is HackYouriPhone.org (or SinfuliPhone repo). To get AppSync, follow this:
  • Open Cydia
  • Go to Manage -> Sources -> Edit -> and tap on Add
  • Type “repo.hackyouriphone.org” and tap on Add Source to add the repo
  • Now search for “AppSync for iOS 6″ – install it and you’re done!
#2. Get vShare
After you’ve installed AppSync, do the following:
  • Open Safari
  • Go to ‘http://v.appvv.com/en/‘
  • Click ‘Download/Install vShare’ to install vShare
  • Once installed, vShare will show up as an icon on the homescreen
#3. Download and Enjoy Apps
That’s it! Now get going. Look for apps on vShare’s interface and download them directly. AppSync will get them installed and synced on your iPhone/iPad.

Why vShare?
vShare is much better than Installous in terms of the download process because it lets you download the IPA files directly. This beats having to wait for downloaders, time limits and the captcha thing.
vShare also brought out recent changes and updates that make it iOS 6 compatible for all A4-devices that are jailbroken. Interestingly, there’s no official repo for vShare yet. This means vShare runs only on mobile privilege mode (as opposed to the root mode). There are few limitations due to this but they don’t affect the overall usage.
